EFEN EFEN GmbH has been acquired by UESA GmbH

With effect from 1st September 2019, Hager Group sells EFEN. Affected by the sale are the EFEN sites in Frankfurt and Uebigau and the Polish and Slovakian subsidiaries. Not affected are Hager Group subsidiaries in Hungary and China and the FUSETECH joint venture in Kaposvar (Hungary).

This sale is in line with Hager Group pursuing its strategy of focusing primarily on solutions in buildings. We are concentrating our financial and human resources on defined strategic growth areas to ensure the company’s long-term success.

EFEN GmbH has been acquired by UESA GmbH, a manufacturer of customer-oriented solutions for energy distribution systems. UESA GmbH was founded in 1990 in Uebigau-Wahrenbrück and today employs 450 people.

Helmut Hoffmann, Managing Director of UESA GmbH, comments that „… the takeover of EFEN is a real enrichment for us. It strengthens our position in Eastern Europe and East Germany and at the same time opens up new growth opportunities in many markets outside Europe“.

„The sale of EFEN GmbH creates a win-win situation,“ confirms Johannes Thomé, former General Manager EFEN Group, now VP Sales Region MENEAT & Americas at Hager Group. “Hager Group will continue to build on a close business relationship with UESA GmbH in the future, in particular with regards to the mutual supplying of required components and system additions“.
